So, yes. This is the good news that we've kept secret all month. Obviously, at this stage of the game, there are still some risks; but having seen the baby's heartbeat at both the 6 and 8 week ultrasound, the risks are fairly low that bad things will happen. Because of the infertility situation, I'm being very closely monitored for anything that might come up.

As noted above, rather than bore y'all with baby stuff, it's all going on the other blog (that way, the family can see it all more easily) - if people want, I can create an RSS feed over here for it.
Yay! Baby!
Thanks. And thanks for listening to me waffle about telling people. :-)
This is great news! Congratulations! :)
I'm interested in the feed. :)
Feed has already been created at sprog_qsd
Yay! I know you really wanted this and I'm so happy for you!
Eeeeee! Congrats!
Thanks. We're terribly excited (at least, we're excited on the days I'm not puking!)
Yay! Congratulations!
Thank you!
HeeeeyOH! Good news!

Don't tell your acupunture doc, they'll want to take credit for part of it!

:) Happy!
Funny thing: took a break from acupuncture before starting this last round of drugs. :-)
May you be fruitful and joyous in your family, blessed with an easy pregnancy and a healthy baby.
Thank you.
Congratulations. I am very happy for you both. This lovely news put a smile on my face. :)
Congratulations! I'm trying to think back, but I think this will be the first child born of two people in the MI2600 community. I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong.

pedantry is a staple of MI2600, so I'm sure corrections will be forthcoming if needed :-)

Well, it's possible.

I suppose it depends on if you count past attendees who no longer show up or not. Given that the meetings have been going on for over 15 years at this point, statistically it's likely that a non-attendee has had kids, but if you take the skew of the social issues, it's hard to say.

I just hope that this doesn't signal the departure of you and melstav from the MI2600 community. :)
Not if I can help it. :-)

If there's one thing I've learned the last few years, it's that I'm happier having a social life than not, and it's better when that social life includes "normal" (by my standards) people - people who can (usually) carry on intelligent conversations, who don't mind off the wall interests, and who are ok with occasionally taking things apart to see what they do - people who think like me, rather than like the run-of-the-mill twits I deal with most of the time.
many congrats to the both of you, this long awaited miracle for two that will make the best parents around. Hugs from Cait and I.
awww, i'm glad for you ^_____^

(found via melstav, in case you're like "where did this weirdo come from...??")
